ποΈ We Thought Snow Was Funβ¦ Then This Kongdoori Snow Bike Ride Took Over! | Day 5 Ep 8
ποΈ Frozen Tracks & Furious Thrills β Snow Bike Ride in Kongdoori
Kashmir Vlog Day 5 β Episode 8
We thought the snow in Kongdoori was already enough.
Walking through the frozen landscape, playing in the snow and simply standing surrounded by mountains had already made the day unforgettable.
Then came the snow bikes.
Suddenly, the quiet winter landscape turned into a playground of motion.
The wheels began cutting through the snow, the cold wind rushed past our faces, and the wide white landscape opened up in front of us.
This was no longer just a snow day.
It was snow in motion.
Our Day 5 adventure continued at Kongdoori, Gulmarg, with an exhilarating snow bike ride through the winter landscape of Kashmir.
βοΈ Kongdoori β From Snowfield to Adventure Playground
Kongdoori is one of the spectacular winter landscapes associated with Gulmarg.
Covered in snow, the open terrain creates an incredible setting for winter activities and photography.
After experiencing the quieter side of Kongdoori in our previous episode, we were ready for something completely different.
Instead of walking slowly across the snow, we climbed onto snow bikes.
And the character of the landscape changed instantly.

ποΈ Snow Bike Ride in Kongdoori
There is something completely different about riding across snow.
The surface beneath the wheels is soft and unpredictable, while the surrounding landscape remains almost completely white.
As the bike moves forward, snow tracks appear behind it.
The engine breaks the winter silence.
Cold air hits your face.
And suddenly, the enormous frozen landscape becomes part of the adventure.
The ride gave us a completely different way to experience Kongdoori.
Instead of simply looking at the snow, we were moving through it.
π¨οΈ What Makes Snow Biking in Kongdoori Special?
Several things came together to make this experience memorable:
βοΈ Endless snowy terrain
Wide stretches of snow created plenty of space for the ride.
ποΈ Snow-covered tracks
The bikes created visible trails across the frozen landscape.
ποΈ Mountain surroundings
The surrounding Himalayan scenery turned the ride into a spectacular visual experience.
πΈ Cinematic photography opportunities
Moving bikes, flying snow and white mountain landscapes created dramatic photographs and videos.
β€οΈ Pure winter excitement
The combination of snow, speed and scenery made the experience feel completely different from an ordinary mountain ride.
π΄ββοΈ What Does a Snow Bike Ride Feel Like?
Imagine sitting on a bike surrounded by nothing but snow.
The engine starts.
The wheels begin moving.
Snow sprays from beneath the tyres.
The cold wind reaches your face.
And the landscape begins moving around you.
For a few moments, it becomes difficult to decide whether you are concentrating on the ride or simply trying to take in the scenery.
That contrast is what made Kongdoori special for us.
One moment was peaceful.
The next was full of excitement.
𧀠Snow Bike Riding Tips for First-Timers
If you are planning to experience a snow bike ride in Kongdoori, preparation can make the experience much more comfortable.
π’ Dress for the Cold
Winter temperatures at high altitude can be extremely cold.
Consider wearing:
- π§₯ Thermal base layers
- 𧀠Warm gloves
- 𧦠Thick winter socks
- π₯Ύ Waterproof winter shoes or boots
- π§₯ Waterproof jacket
- π Waterproof trousers
- π₯½ Goggles
Keeping your hands, feet and face warm is particularly important during a snow-bike ride.
πͺ Safety Comes First
Snow-covered terrain can change quickly.
Always:
- πͺ Wear a helmet
- π΅ Follow the operator or guide’s instructions
- βοΈ Be careful on deeper or uneven snow
- π¦ Maintain a controlled speed
- π± Secure your phone or camera properly
The excitement comes from the ride, but the experience becomes much better when safety remains the priority.
πΈ Photographing a Snow Bike Ride
A moving snow bike can create some of the most dramatic winter photographs in Kongdoori.
Instead of photographing only the landscape, try to capture movement against the stillness of the snow.
Look for:
ποΈ Bike tracks disappearing into the snow
βοΈ Snow spraying behind the wheels
ποΈ A rider framed against the mountains
π² Snow-covered pine edges
βοΈ Sunlight falling across the snowfield
π£ Human and vehicle tracks crossing the white landscape
A wide composition can work particularly well because it shows the scale of the snowy environment.
βοΈ Best Time of Day for Snow Photography
For photography, the period around 10 AM to 2 PM can offer useful daylight across the snow-covered landscape.
The sun can illuminate the snowfields while providing stronger contrast between the tracks, riders and surrounding mountains.
However, mountain weather can change quickly, so conditions on the actual day should always take priority over a fixed photography schedule.
π₯ Capturing Snow Bike Videos
Snow biking is particularly suited to video.
A moving bike against a completely white background naturally creates a cinematic scene.
For better footage:
π± Keep your camera securely mounted.
ποΈ Capture both wide landscape shots and closer riding moments.
βοΈ Try to include snow spray from the wheels.
ποΈ Leave enough space in the frame to show the surrounding mountains.
π₯ Mix moving shots with quiet landscape shots.
The contrast between stillness and movement is what makes the footage interesting.
ποΈ The Quiet Side of a Thrilling Winter
Kongdoori showed us two completely different sides of winter.
There were moments when we simply stood in the snow and looked across the mountains.
Then the snow bikes arrived.
The silence was replaced by engines.
Walking became riding.
Stillness became motion.
And the same snowy landscape suddenly felt completely different.
That contrast became one of the most memorable parts of our Day 5 experience.

βοΈ From Snow Play to Snow Adventure
Our previous Kongdoori episode was about experiencing snow slowly β walking through it, playing in it and enjoying the frozen landscape.
This episode changed the pace completely.
From snow play to snow biking.
The landscape remained the same.
Our experience did not.
That is one of the joys of travelling: the same destination can offer completely different memories depending on how you experience it.

ποΈ Snow, Speed & Memories
There are peaceful moments in every journey.
There are adventurous moments too.
The snow bike ride at Kongdoori gave us both.
The surrounding landscape remained calm and beautiful, while the bike brought speed, excitement and a little chaos into the picture.
Snow became our road.
The mountains became our backdrop.
And every turn became another memory.
π Final Thoughts
We went to Kongdoori expecting to enjoy the snow.
We walked through it.
We played in it.
We photographed it.
And then we rode through it.
The snow bike ride added an entirely new dimension to our winter experience in Gulmarg.
It reminded us that travel isn’t always about reaching another destination.
Sometimes, it is about experiencing the same landscape in a completely different way.
In Kongdoori, the snow wasn’t simply something to look at.
For a while, it became our playground, our track and our adventure.
π βLet your wheels chase snow and your heart chase joy.β
