โ From the skies above the turquoise islands to the silent walls of Cellular Jail and the waves of Corbynโ€™s Cove โ€” Day 1 begins where history meets the sea. ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐ŸŒŠโœจ โž

๐ŸŒด Welcome to Day 1 of Our Andaman Journey

A new journey begins.

After exploring the mountains and valleys of Kashmir, TravelWithSurajit takes you to a completely different world โ€” the tropical paradise of the Andaman Islands.

Welcome to Andaman Tour โ€“ Day 1, captured through a peaceful and immersive Digital Photo Album.

Our first day takes us from the skies above the Bay of Bengal to the historic streets of Port Blair, from the solemn corridors of Cellular Jail to the relaxing shores of Corbynโ€™s Cove Beach.

It is a day of contrasts.

โœˆ๏ธ A journey through the clouds.

๐ŸŒŠ Turquoise islands beneath the aircraft.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ A powerful chapter of India’s history.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ And finally, the peaceful rhythm of the sea.

As always, there is no unnecessary narration.

Just the journey.

Just the atmosphere.

Just the feeling of being there. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ›ซ Kolkata to Port Blair โ€“ The Journey Begins

Our Andaman adventure begins with an early morning flight from Kolkata (CCU) towards Port Blair (IXZ).

The excitement begins even before reaching the islands.

As the aircraft leaves Kolkata behind and continues towards the Andaman Sea, the view outside the window slowly begins to change.

The familiar mainland disappears.

The endless blue of the sea takes over.

And scattered islands begin appearing beneath the aircraft.

This aerial perspective provides the perfect introduction to the Andaman Islands.

๐ŸŒŠ Andaman From Above

One of the most beautiful parts of the journey is seeing the islands from the sky.

From above, the Andaman landscape becomes a combination of:

๐ŸŒŠ Deep blue ocean

๐Ÿ’Ž Turquoise coastal waters

๐Ÿ๏ธ Scattered islands

๐ŸŒฟ Dense tropical greenery

โ˜๏ธ Endless sky

The contrast between the deep ocean and the lighter waters surrounding the islands creates an extraordinary aerial landscape.

For a travel photographer, even the flight itself becomes part of the destination.

๐Ÿ›ฌ Arrival at Port Blair

After the scenic flight, we finally arrive at Port Blair, the gateway to our Andaman adventure.

The airport marks the beginning of our island exploration.

The tropical atmosphere feels immediately different from mainland India.

The air is warmer.

The surroundings are greener.

And the sea is never far away.

From here, our Day 1 journey continues into Port Blair.

๐Ÿจ A Gentle Beginning in Port Blair

After arrival, we transfer to Hotel Rishabite, Marine Hill, where we take some time to settle down and begin experiencing the local atmosphere.

The first day isn’t about rushing from one attraction to another.

It is about slowly entering the rhythm of island life.

And naturally, food becomes part of that experience.

๐Ÿค A Taste of the Islands

Our first day also introduces us to local seafood flavours.

Among the meals enjoyed during the journey were:

๐Ÿค Prawn curry

๐ŸŸ Fresh fish

๐Ÿš Local-style accompaniments

Food is another way of experiencing a destination.

The flavours, ingredients and cooking styles become part of the memories we carry home.

And on an island surrounded by the sea, fresh seafood naturally becomes an important part of the culinary experience.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Cellular Jail โ€“ Where History Speaks in Silence

The most powerful experience of Day 1 comes with our visit to the Cellular Jail National Memorial.

Known as Kala Pani, Cellular Jail represents one of the most significant chapters in India’s freedom struggle.

Built between 1896 and 1906, the prison was designed primarily for solitary confinement.

Its original structure contained 698 cells spread across seven wings.

Today, only three wings remain.

But even the remaining structure is enough to create a profound sense of history.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Walking Through the Cellular Jail

Inside the jail, the atmosphere changes completely.

The tropical brightness of Port Blair seems far away.

The walls are quiet.

The corridors are narrow.

And every cell carries a sense of the difficult history associated with this place.

Our video explores the jail through visuals rather than lengthy explanations.

You will see:

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Historic prison corridors

๐Ÿšช Individual cells

๐Ÿ—ผ Central tower

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Martyr’s memorial flame

๐Ÿ“œ Historical galleries

โš–๏ธ Execution room

The purpose isn’t simply to show a monument.

It is to allow the atmosphere of the place to speak for itself.

๐Ÿงฑ The Seven-Wing Design

The original Cellular Jail was constructed with a distinctive radial design.

Seven wings extended outward from a central tower, allowing the authorities to maintain control and isolate prisoners.

The design was particularly associated with solitary confinement.

Each individual cell was intended to prevent prisoners from communicating with one another.

Today, walking through the surviving structure provides a glimpse into the harsh environment of the colonial prison system.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ The Martyr’s Memorial Flame

Among the emotionally powerful sights within the memorial is the martyr’s memorial flame.

It stands as a symbolic reminder of those who endured imprisonment and hardship during India’s freedom struggle.

In a silent travel video, moments like this do not need much explanation.

The visual itself carries the emotion.

The flame.

The walls.

The silence.

The history.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Galleries and Historical Memories

The Cellular Jail complex also contains galleries documenting the history of the prison and the people associated with it.

Photographs, displays and historical information provide visitors with a deeper understanding of the lives of prisoners who were sent to the Andaman Islands.

Our Digital Photo Album captures these elements as part of the wider experience of visiting this important national memorial.

โš–๏ธ The Execution Room

Another deeply sobering part of the Cellular Jail is the historic execution room.

It is a place that immediately changes the emotional atmosphere of the visit.

Rather than treating it simply as another tourist attraction, our video allows viewers to experience the location quietly.

Some places are meant to be photographed.

Some are meant to be remembered.

And some are meant to make us pause.

Cellular Jail is all three.

๐ŸŒŠ From History to the Sea

After spending time surrounded by the weight of history, Day 1 takes a completely different turn.

We head towards Corbyn’s Cove Beach.

The atmosphere changes instantly.

The walls of the historic jail give way to:

๐ŸŒด Coconut palms

๐ŸŒŠ Ocean waves

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Sandy shores

โ˜€๏ธ Open skies

๐Ÿต Tea and snacks

๐ŸŒ… Evening light

It is the perfect contrast to the earlier part of the day.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Corbyn’s Cove Beach

Located just a few kilometres from Port Blair, Corbyn’s Cove Beach is one of the city’s popular seaside destinations.

The beach offers a relaxing environment where visitors can simply sit back and enjoy the sea.

For our Day 1 journey, it becomes the perfect place to slow down.

The sound of waves replaces the silence of the jail.

The open sea replaces the narrow corridors.

And the evening sky brings a peaceful conclusion to our first day.

๐ŸŒด A Quiet Evening by the Sea

There is something special about ending the first day of an island journey beside the ocean.

After travelling by air.

Exploring the city.

Experiencing history.

And discovering local flavours.

We finally get a chance to simply sit.

Have some tea.

Enjoy a few snacks.

Feel the sea breeze.

And watch the daylight slowly disappear.

Sometimes these simple moments become the most memorable ones.

๐Ÿงญ How to Reach Port Blair

โœˆ๏ธ By Air

Port Blair is primarily accessed by air through Veer Savarkar International Airport (IXZ).

Direct and connecting flights operate from major Indian cities, including:

โœˆ๏ธ Kolkata

โœˆ๏ธ Chennai

โœˆ๏ธ Bengaluru

โœˆ๏ธ Delhi

Flight availability varies by season and airline.

๐Ÿšข By Sea

Historically, passenger ships have also connected Port Blair with mainland Indian ports.

However, sea travel takes considerably longer than flying and operates according to specific schedules.

For most tourists, air travel remains the most convenient option.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Cellular Jail Visitor Information

๐Ÿ“ Location: Port Blair, Andaman Islands

๐Ÿ•˜ General Visiting Hours: 9:00 AMโ€“12:00 PM and 1:00 PMโ€“5:00 PM

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Entry Fee: The original information for this album lists approximately โ‚น30 per person.

๐ŸŽญ Light & Sound Show: Evening shows may be available subject to current scheduling and availability.

Because visitor timings, ticket prices and show schedules can change, travellers should verify the latest information before visiting.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Corbyn’s Cove Beach

Corbyn’s Cove is located a short distance from central Port Blair and can be reached conveniently by local taxi, auto-rickshaw or private vehicle.

The beach is particularly enjoyable for:

๐ŸŒด Relaxation

๐Ÿ“ธ Photography

๐ŸŒŠ Seaside walks

๐ŸŒ… Sunset views

๐Ÿต Quiet evening moments

The combination of coconut trees, ocean waves and open sky makes it a pleasant place to unwind after sightseeing.

๐ŸŒค๏ธ Best Time to Visit Andaman

The Andaman Islands are generally most suitable for tourism during the drier months.

๐ŸŒค๏ธ Octoberโ€“May

This is generally considered the better period for sightseeing, beaches and outdoor activities.

โ˜€๏ธ Novemberโ€“February

Pleasant weather makes this period particularly comfortable for exploring Port Blair and nearby islands.

๐ŸŒธ Marchโ€“May

Warmer temperatures but still suitable for beach and island activities.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ Juneโ€“September

The monsoon can bring heavier rainfall and rougher seas, which may affect ferry schedules and outdoor activities.

Weather conditions can vary, so travellers should check current forecasts before planning activities.

๐Ÿ’ก Travel Tips for Day 1

๐ŸŽ’ Keep your luggage light and comfortable for island travel.

โ˜€๏ธ Carry sunscreen and sunglasses.

๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated, particularly during outdoor sightseeing.

๐Ÿ“ท Keep your camera ready during the flightโ€”the aerial island views can be spectacular.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Allow enough time to experience Cellular Jail without rushing.

๐ŸŒŠ Keep some relaxed time for Corbyn’s Cove.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ During monsoon months, check ferry and activity schedules in advance.

๐ŸŒฟ Respect the islands and avoid leaving waste behind.

๐ŸŽฅ Why We Create Silent Travel Videos

At TravelWithSurajit, our travel stories are not designed to overwhelm you with information.

They are designed to make you feel the place.

No constant talking.

No unnecessary narration.

No rush.

Instead, we capture:

๐ŸŒŠ The movement of the sea.

๐Ÿ›ซ The view from the aircraft.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ The silence of historic places.

๐ŸŒด The atmosphere of tropical islands.

๐ŸŒ… The changing light of the evening.

The result is a travel experience that feels more like being there than simply watching a traditional travel vlog.

๐Ÿ’™ Travel Without Leaving Home

Not everyone can travel whenever they wish.

Work.

Family.

Finances.

Time.

Personal circumstances.

There can be many reasons why someone cannot physically visit a destination.

That’s why our Digital Photo Albums and Silent Travel videos try to bring the world closer to you.

You may not be sitting beside the Andaman Sea.

You may not be walking through Cellular Jail.

You may not be looking down at turquoise islands from an aircraft.

But for a few minutes, we hope our journey allows you to experience those moments with us.

See the place.

Feel the atmosphere.

Connect with the journey. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒ… Final Thoughts

Andaman Tour โ€“ Day 1 is a day of remarkable contrasts.

It begins high above the clouds, with the beautiful islands appearing beneath the aircraft.

It continues through the historic corridors of Cellular Jail, where India’s difficult freedom struggle comes alive through architecture, galleries and silence.

And it ends beside the sea at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, where waves, coconut trees and evening light bring a sense of peace.

From the sky to history.

From history to the sea.

From a powerful past to a peaceful evening.

That is how our Andaman journey begins.

The first day doesn’t simply introduce us to the Andaman Islands โ€” it introduces us to their soul. ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ’™
