Sonmarg, meaning “Meadow of Gold,” is one of the most beautiful hill stations in Jammu & Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of approximately 2,730 metres (8,957 ft), it serves as the gateway to famous destinations like Thajiwas Glacier, Baltal, Amarnath Cave, and Zoji La Pass.
During spring and summer, lush green meadows bloom with colourful flowers, while winter transforms Sonmarg into a breathtaking white paradise.
Its combination of glaciers, rivers, pine forests, and towering Himalayan peaks makes it one of Kashmir’s most photogenic destinations.
